Custom means the structure matches the company’s parts and inquiries. It does not mean more animation. The handover is done when the people who will run the site can complete the tasks without the builder sitting beside them.
What is worth customizing
The part fields, the inquiry, the languages, and the path from search to a quote are worth specific work. A unique color on a generic contact form is not. Spend the custom effort where a template would hide a field you need.
Motion should mark a state
Use motion to show order or a change of state. Do not cover the text, and do not keep playing when the visitor has asked for less motion. If the content disappears without the animation, it fails acceptance.
The company has to be able to use the delivery
Editable text, a way to add a part, exported inquiries, and accounts in the company’s name are the delivery. Source code alone does not renew a certificate or restore a backup.
Write the checklist as failures
Each line should be something that can fail: cannot add a part, cannot submit on a phone, confirmation names a different company, motion still plays when reduced. A line that cannot fail is not a check.
Common questions
Does more motion look more professional?
No. Motion should mark order or state. Effects that cover text, cannot be paused, or keep playing when motion is reduced should not pass.
Who should run acceptance?
The person who will update the site: add a part, change a translation, submit an inquiry, and do the same path on a phone.
If the source code is delivered, is maintenance finished?
No. Source code means the site can be moved. The certificate, backups, failures, and content updates still need an owner.
